Namtso Lake Trekking
Namtso lake is one of largest holy lake in Tibet. Located around 240km to the north of Lhasa, it offers fantastic views of Mt.NyingCheng Thangla (7210m) In addition to enjoying the stunning beauty of the lake and the surrounding grasslands and mountain peaks,you can also visit Tibetan nomads\\\' tents & ride a horse or yak around the Lake,this is the one of the best place to ride the Horse or Yak and also you can have couple of tea at their home in tent.
It is second biggest salt lake in Tibet lies 210 kms north of Lhasa.It is fairly rugged trip off beaten track but the rewards are considerable .At present this is best opportunity open to travelers to see nomads on the move their yaks herds and to get the flavour of Tibet\\\'s high grasslands.The lake itself is spectacular and still totally wild.The altitude exceeds 4300 meters for the most of journey and one mountain pass is 5200mtrs.The road from Lhasa follows After leaving from Lhasa the route follows the Damxung River valley through fields of rape and barley passing small villages Greenery and dwelling become sparser as the valley narrows.the road enter a steep,rocky gorges 80 kilometers from Lhasa and climbs beside the tumbling River for several kilometers,when it merges on the Tibet northern plateau a totally new landscapes greet the travelers.Windswept grassland alternating with grave desert stretch between snowcapped mountains and a chain of steep bare hills. This is land of nomads too high for farms and villages.
Drive to Lhasa and on the way you will stop at Nyithang stone budhha which carved in the 11th century by a famouse disaple of Ati Sha (Indian Master) who named Zomthongba,(3560m) 63Km Overnight at Shangbala or Keychu Hotel
Day02:SIGHTSEEING
AM:Visit Sera Monastery PM:Jokhang temple & Barkhor street
Sera is the second biggest Gelupa Monastery in the north suburb of Lhasa, which was built in 1419 by Tsongapa\\\'s disciple Sakya-yeshi. Situated at the heart of the oldest section of the Lhasa city, Jokhang, one of the oldest temples in Tibet, was built in the 7th century by the 33rd king Sontsanganbu. Barkor is the middle pilgrimage circuit around Jokhang temple.
Day03:SIGHTSEEING
AM:Visit Potala Palace PM:Drepung Monastery & Norbulingka Palace
Potala was the winter palace of the Dalailama, which was originally built in the 7th century by the king Sotsen Gampo and rebuilt to the present size by the 5th Dalai lama in the 17th century. Built in the mid-18th century by the 7th Dalailama, Norbulingka, the Jewel Park was the Dalai lama\\\'s summer palace, it covers 100 acres with palaces, pavilions and a zoo.
Drepung monastery; Built in1416 by Tsongapa\\\'s disciple Jamyang-choje, Drepung Monastery is the biggest Gelupa monastery in the west suburb of Lhasa.
Day04:Drive to Yangbacheng (the hot spring) 90Km O/H (Hire the yaks for next day)
Day05:Trekking to Gurong Valley O/H Camp
Day06:Trekking to other side of Gurongla Pass O/H Camp
Day07:Trekking to Namtso Valley O/H Camp
Day08:Visit Tashiduo Monastery and make a circle O/H Camp
Day09-Drive to Lhasa 245km
Day10-Drive to Airport
